ABOUT ME
Writer . Director . Promo Producer . Graphic Designer
My television career began in RTE (Ireland's national broadcaster) as a Motion Graphics Designer, picking up a few design awards along the way. I moved into Channel Branding where I was the sole creative on the popular "Green Room" rebrand of RTE TWO. This two year project resulted in several Promax Europe & Promax Global Excellence awards.
An interest in script-writing led me to pursue a career as a Promo Producer & Creative. Around this time I also began writing and performing stand-up comedy, bringing four solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival over the years.
A move to London resulted in a close association with ITV over the past few years, primarily because of their desire for originated rather than clip-based promos. This suited my increasing interest in writing & storyboarding my own shoots and produced a couple of Promax UK awards.
Over the years I have developed some signature traits as a writer, director & producer. My design background lends me an art director's eye as well as being a competent storyboard artist. Coming from post-production means I am well aware of what can be achieved in post and I often edit my own rushes. My background in comedy means my directing style is relaxed, inclusive & suited to coaxing performances out of individuals who, while in the public eye, are not necessarily comfortable as actors.
I am proficient in Avid, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator with some experience in After Effects.
